JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in Pontiac, MI. Our client is a well-established manufacturer specializing in innovative solutions for the automotive and industrial sectors. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
Responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer include:
- Designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Collaborating with production, quality, and design engineering teams to resolve technical and operational issues
- Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for production problems
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Developing work instructions, process documentation, and training materials
- Participating in new product launches, ensuring manufacturability and smooth integration into production
- Supporting equipment procurement, installation, and validation efforts
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Experience with process validation, statistical analysis, and root cause problem-solving
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple projects
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role (automotive or industrial manufacturing preferred)
- Experience with manufacturing process development and improvement
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement tools is a plus
