EXTENDED DAY SITE LEADER
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To supervise students and carry out responsibilities for the Liberty Extended Day Care Program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Liberty Elementary School District and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma, or high school equivalency AND 6 months of childcare experience or
- N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. Credential or
- Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development, or closely related field
- At least one year experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (preferred)
- Must be at least 21 years old to meet Arizona Department of Health Services licensing requirement
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current CPR and First-Aid Certification, or ability to obtain
- Ability to work independently and supervise others
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, community and staff
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Support the LEAP Primary Site Leader in running the program at a school site, ensuring program is in alignment with district goals, community needs, and Arizona Department of Health Licensing requirements.
- Carry out and assist Primary Site Leader with daily operations of the program including sign in/out, parent communications, lessons and activities, discipline, and other duties as assigned.
- Supervise children and activities at all times to ensure their safety.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons for children in the before and after school (6:30 am - 6:30 pm) LEAP Program.
- Facilitate an environment that develops social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive skills while promoting learning, cooperation, and enjoyment.
- Develop and follow activity and snack schedules consistent with program requirements.
- Communicate with parents regularly as necessary.
- Supervise Site Assistant(s).
- Assist in keeping the district programs in compliance with all local, state, federal, and DHS regulations. to include licensing, fire, and sanitation requirements.
- Collect, process, and report revenues to program director.
- Assist Primary Site Leader with overseeing of sign in/out forms, registration, revenue, and all other program related forms.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date student files in accordance with licensing regulations.
- Work collaboratively and constructively as a team member with the program team, administrative team, the teaching staff, classified staff, and site-based teams.
- Attend meetings, district activities and training as assigned.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, community and staff.
- Compile program reports for the director as needed.
- Produce high quality communiques.
- Carry out Primary Site Leaders duties and responsibilities when he/she is absent.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Represent the district in a professional manner, and in the best interests of the district.
- Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Community Outreach Coordinator.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus and monitor students on the periphery. The employee must regularly move about the work site to monitor children and work closely with them in a variety of settings (on the carpet, at a desk, on the playground.)
Working Environment
The employee regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
