This role includes overseeing the food service program at your facility, ensuring high standards in food quality, inventory management, food safety, and exceptional customer service. You will adhere to the facility menus and comply with federal, state, and local regulations along with HCSG policies to consistently provide outstanding dining services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the food service team to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of financial transactions, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
  • Conduct training, quality control assessments, and in-service sessions; assist in roles such as dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate directives from client managers and administrative staff to HCSG personnel.
  • Utilize protective gear, safely handle cleaning solutions, and promptly report any equipment needs or malfunctions.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a sanitary environment through proper procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrate attendance, punctuality, and timely task completion.
  • Represent HCSG positively through professional interactions with supervisors, co-workers, client staff, residents, and guests.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, ideally with coursework in food service or restaurant management.
  • Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision is preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is preferred (as mandated by state law).
  • Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Must gain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to foster a positive attitude and effectively relay information to building occupants and HCSG leadership.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and maintain physical activity including standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform routine and repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
  • Basic computer proficiency for maintaining records and completing required reports, including web-based reporting.
  • May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
