Job Title: Senior Indirect Tax Accountant

Location: Minneapolis, MN (onsite schedule)
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000/year DOE
Fulltime, direct-hire opportunity + excellent benefits

Role Overview:

This role is ideal for someone who loves digging into sales and use tax details, improving processes, and shaping smarter, more automated systems. You'll serve as the organization's sales tax expert-evaluating revenue streams, enhancing billing accuracy, and guiding internal teams on taxability, nexus, and state law changes.

You'll manage sales and use tax filings across all jurisdictions, handle escalated customer tax inquiries, support audit responses, and ensure accurate reporting for personal property taxes. This role also involves reconciling monthly tax data, identifying refund opportunities, and driving efficiencies through automation and improved workflows. Responsibilities:

• Enhance monthly compliance workflows to simplify and improve sales and use tax reporting.

• Partner with internal teams to research and resolve sales tax questions and discrepancies.

• Support indirect tax audits by gathering required documentation and information.

• Review automated use tax calculations to identify refund opportunities and drive corrective improvements.

• Prepare and review sales, use, and other indirect tax filings across U.S. jurisdictions.

• Complete business personal property tax returns nationwide.

• Oversee indirect tax audits when required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience managing sales and use tax across multiple states.

• 2+ years of multi-state property tax experience.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, and Teams.

• Familiarity with Oracle is beneficial.

• Experience with Vertex sales tax systems and PTMS property tax software is a plus.
