Under the direction of phlebotomy management, performs diverse support functions including phlebotomy to ensure accurate test results and a quick turnaround time. Positions supporting Patient Service Centers and client offices are required to provide phlebotomy services to these locations as determined by department needs and may be assigned to different locations and/or different schedules without a 30-day notice. Essential functions include performing venipuncture and capillary punctures to obtain adequate samples from patients, responsible for proper patient identification, correct specimen labeling and necessary documentation, and supporting laboratory activities related to laboratory testing. The role also involves performing processing functions to support laboratory services, adhering to compliance policies, and maintaining department equipment and inventory. Participates in patient and family-centered care culture, quality improvement initiatives, and staff activities of a high reliability organization. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a phlebotomy training program, and 6 months of relevant experience. Physical demands include various lifting and bending activities.
