Farm and Ranch Claims Specialist

We are actively seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Virtual Desk team, focusing on diverse claim types, including Farm Auto, Farm Dwelling, Farm Equipment, and Farm Structures.

As a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling farm and ranch claims, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures. A strong understanding of agricultural operations, insurance principles, and claims adjusting practices is vital. This position also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and assess farm and ranch claims, encompassing:
  • Crop damage
  • Livestock losses
  • Equipment and property damage
  • Business interruption
• Conduct virtual inspections and interviews with policyholders, witnesses, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Gather and analyze data, including financial records, agricultural reports, and pertinent documents.
• Determine the extent of damages and losses, calculating claim settlements according to policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate claim decisions and settlements to policyholders, agents, and involved parties.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of claims activities, documenting investigations, evaluations, and settlements.
• Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, construction management, or a related discipline).
• A minimum of two years of experience in farm and ranch claims adjusting.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural operations, including crop and livestock production.
• Familiarity with insurance principles, including policy terms, conditions, and exclusions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the capacity to learn company-specific software and systems.

The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $100,000 annually, in addition to bonuses and the benefits mentioned above.
