The Lead Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in driving Agile transformation at the organizational level, working closely with executive leadership to align Agile initiatives with strategic business objectives. This position will oversee multiple Agile teams ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives while continuously improving our operating model.
The Lead Scrum Master position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and can be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas or remotely for the right candidate. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
What Does the Job Look Like?
The Lead Scrum Master leads multiple Agile teams and drives enterprise-wide Agile transformation. This includes mentoring Scrum Masters, aligning Agile strategy with business goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Strategy: Guide Scrum Masters and teams in applying Agile principles, partner with executives to define Agile transformation goals, and ensure frameworks deliver measurable business value.
- Agile Delivery Excellence: Facilitate ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives), track metrics, and remove impediments to maintain high performance and quality delivery.
- Core System Integration Oversight: Oversee integrations between Zahara, LifeCad, and Zinnia systems by embedding coordination, dependency tracking, and validation throughout sprints.
- Quality & Definition of Done: Enforce strong governance with integration testing, peer reviews, and complete adherence to functional and non-functional requirements.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate across Infrastructure, Platform, and Data teams to ensure synchronized releases, environment readiness, and core system reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives and implement solutions for recurring integration or delivery issues.
- Metrics & Reporting: Monitor integration health, sprint velocity, and dependency bottlenecks, providing executive updates and insights for process optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- 10+ years of experience in Agile leadership roles with enterprise-scale system integrations.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean).
- Demonstrated experience in managing dependencies across multiple systems and teams.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills with a systems-thinking mindset.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Agile DevOps tools.
