- Operating word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment efficiently.
- Receiving, filing, and storing materials as required to maintain organization.
- Handling incoming lab orders and requisitions, entering relevant clinical data into appropriate software applications.
- Reviewing and editing transcribed reports for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology.
- Identifying inaccuracies in reports and verifying with physicians to ensure correct information is documented.
- Prioritizing dictated reports based on the continuity of care needs to optimize patient outcomes.
