Medical Assistant Talent Profile
1. Key Qualifications
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent preferred
• Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
• Clinical Skills:
- Taking vital signs
- Performing Point-of-Care Testing
- Performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests
- Assisting with minor procedures
- Ensuring infection control and safety protocols
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing calendars
- Maintaining patient records and documentation
- Processing insurance claims and verifying patient eligibility
- Coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations
- Handling medical inventory
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Empathy and ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Teamwork and collaboration with healthcare providers
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally
- Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times
