PRIMARY PURPOSE: As a Recreational Marine Claims Adjuster, you will investigate and process marine claims adjustments for our clients, managing complex losses independently up to $50,000 while assisting the team with larger claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate the cause and extent of damages, gathering necessary documentation and issuing settlements.
  • Review and input new claims while maintaining data integrity in the claims system.
  • Analyze survey reports and insurance policies to assess coverage.
  • Prepare settlement documents and facilitate payment requests for claims and expenses.
  • Assist in creating loss experience reports to evaluate profitability and determine future rates.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  • Support the organization's quality programs.
  • Travel as required for investigations and assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, along with the appropriate state adjuster license.

Experience: 3 or more years of experience in Marine Adjusting is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Dedicated to timely reporting and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed to high performance standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Physical:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to kneel, squat, or bend as necessary.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Driving capability for up to 4 hours daily.
  • Continuous use of manual dexterity is required.

Auditory/Visual: Requires effective hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
