Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, located in Torrington, Connecticut, is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital serving the vibrant residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. As a Nursing Development Specialist, you will leverage your expertise as a Registered Nurse to enhance the skills and professional growth of nursing learners. Your role will involve:
- Supporting nursing learners within the framework of Nursing Professional Development standards endorsed by the American Nurses Association.
- Collaborating with nursing leadership to promote competency management, clinical education, and professional role development.
- Standardizing policies and fostering collaborative partnerships to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Engaging in scientific inquiry and facilitating the onboarding and orientation processes for new Hartford HealthCare colleagues.
This position is crucial in aligning regional nursing development initiatives with overall practice excellence across the Hartford HealthCare system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience as a preceptor.
- Preferred: One year of relevant teaching experience in nursing professional development or a specialty area.
- Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH, obtained prior to the hire date.
- Nursing Professional Development or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
- BLS certification required.
