Have three openings for a hybrid roles that will sit out of Mclean, VA. We are hiring for 1 Tech Lead, 1 Senior, and 1 Mid developer for a financial client. We are only considering Capital One former FTES or contractors. These developers must have a combination of Java+Spring development with Data Engineering using Python, AWS, ETL. Client want's candidates they can potentially convert FTE in the future so GC or USC are strongly preferred. The client will begin interviews in the coming weeks but the target start date will be in January.

Tech Lead Expectations

Senior Developer

Mid Developer

Length: 6 months+

Location: McLean, VA, 2-3 days onsite

Primary Skillset Needed for all Developers

  • Previous experience working at Capital One, this will be validated
  • Strong Software Engineering background (60-75% Software Engineering, 25-40% Data Engineering
  • Java + Spring Framework expertise (critical for legacy app changes)
  • Solid understanding of API development and integration.
  • Awareness of testing frameworks (Wiremock, Cucumber); testing is a major focus at Capital One.
  • Python experience (lighter usage than Java)
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts
  • Spark/Databricks experience is nice-to-have, not mandatory.
