Overview:

Join our dedicated team as a Dental Support Specialist, where you will be an essential part of our dental practice, assisting in delivering exceptional patient care. Your role will encompass both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring efficient daily operations and creating a welcoming environment for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative work, extractions, and root canals.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials for treatments.
  • Welcome patients and prepare them for treatment, addressing their concerns to ensure comfort.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments according to established protocols.
  • Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist, ensuring proper radiation safety measures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatment plans and clinical notes.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and provide oral hygiene instructions.
  • Order, organize, and maintain dental supplies, ensuring availability for appointments.
  • Monitor the function of dental equipment and promptly report any issues.
  • Manage patient appointments and records using our dental software when needed.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to provide a clean and sterile environment.
  • Follow OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection prevention and workplace safety.
  • Work collaboratively with dentists, dental hygienists, and team members to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assist with the training and onboarding of new staff members as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification or licensure as a dental assistant if required by the state.
  • Proficient in chairside assisting and knowledgeable in dental procedures.
  • Familiarity with dental instruments and materials.
  • Certification in dental radiography in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey instructions clearly to patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
  • Adaptability to the dynamic needs of our dental practice.
