What to Expect

We are hiring a Security Engineer to fortify the platform that powers our Energy IoT applications. These applications provide real-time monitoring,optimization, control for our flagship Tesla Energy products: Powerwall, Megapack, Solar Roof, Supercharger, Autobidder, and Virtual PowerPlants. Security Engineering builds and operates tools to enhance the security and reliability of our energy software platform and infrastructure,including web applications, APIs, and embedded devices. If you enjoy CTFs, finding new vulnerabilities, and proving the correctness of softwaresystems, and you want to help safeguard our systems, this position is for you. What You'll Do
  • Audit source code for security vulnerabilities, track remediation efforts, and ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities
  • Develop tooling to help spot known security exposures, including fuzzing, sanitizers, model checking, and supply-chain validation
  • Participate in security reviews, threat modeling, risk analysis, and architecture design
  • Lead security initiatives, work across teams to identify, implement and advance security at Tesla
  • Maintain the values of the team which include engineering excellence, curiosity, a bias for action, self-awareness, inclusivity, and vulnerability

What You'll Bring
  • Strong experience in application security
  • Proficient in software development, auditing code and features
  • Proficient in at least one systems programming language, such as Rust, C++, Java, Go, etc.
  • Experience in secure architecture design
  • Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Expected Compensation $140,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
