Civil/Geotechnical Engineer

Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Civil/site engineering and design for government buildings, test stands, recreational facilities, roadways, parking lots, laboratory facilities, etc.
- Perform boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings
- Perform and supervise field exploration, including SPT sampling, rock coring, pile testing
- Assist in developing a variety of layouts, drawings, and designs
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Slope Stability Analysis
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- 1-3 years' experience with Geotechnical engineer knowledge
- 1-3 years' experience preparing Geotechnical Engineering reports, including site investigations, soil analysis, and foundation recommendations
- Experience and skill in application of CAD software, specifically Civil 3D and associated civil software packages are highly desirable.
- At least 1 year of experience working on GDOT projects preferred
- Ability and willingness to assist designers, drafters, and other staff members where needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
