Staff Accountant
Location: Burlington, CT - Hybrid
Overview:
Our client, a stable well-established firm in Burlington, CT, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with 1-4 years of corporate accounting experience who is looking to deepen their exposure across general accounting , AP, AR and treasury, and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This is a role providing skill growth and upward mobility.
Responsibilities:
• Support the accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes
• Support monthly closings, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Assist with treasury functions including cash management and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze work in process reports
• Prepare and analyze financial data to support internal reporting
• Partner with teams to ensure cost accuracy and timely financial updates
• Support audits and provide documentation as needed
• Handle additional general accounting tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• 1-4 years of corporate accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, and general ledger accounting
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint, or similar is helpful)
• Solid Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Collaborate and communicate effectively
