As a Retail Sales Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure an outstanding customer experience by helping guests find the perfect animals, supplies, and services for their pets. You will engage with customers, identify their needs, and provide them with appropriate solutions. Your role also involves operating the cash register, managing merchandise stock, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and assist customers with their purchases using your sales skills and training.
  • Guide customers in the selection of products based on the needs of their pets.
  • Show a strong commitment to the care, welfare, and handling of all animals.
  • Process transactions smoothly to create an excellent shopping experience.
  • Promote future business by understanding guest needs and preferences.
  • Maintain well-stocked, accurately priced, and well-presented merchandise displays.
  • Complete training programs to stay updated on products and customer service skills.
  • Adhere to protocols, policies, and procedures for operational excellence.
  • Support a collaborative work culture that prioritizes teamwork and inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales or retail.
  • Knowledge of pet nutrition and sales techniques is a plus.

The position involves working indoors primarily and requires regular mobility, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and using equipment safely. Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

The starting pay ranges from $16.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and location.
