Situated in the heart of St. Cloud, Florida, Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital is an 84-bed acute-care community hospital offering comprehensive emergency, inpatient and outpatient care. Specialties include cardiology, critical care, infectious disease, orthopedics, radiology and surgical services. The ER features a designated geriatric section for specialized emergency care, and the hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Primary Stroke Center Accreditation. Position Summary
The Bed Control Coordinator manages the flow of admitted patients.
Qualifications
Education/Training
High school diploma or GED required.
Proficient with Bed Board and Sunrise programs.
Licensure/Certification
Maintains heart saver certification.
Experience
One year of experience with the admissions process in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with administrative supervisors, charge nurses, E.D. Navigator and transportation dispatcher to ensure
appropriate and timely patient placement. - Will perform continuous surveillance of the patient care units identifying discharges, bed assignments and transfers.
- Maintains open communication with all units to ensure efficient and appropriate patient throughput.
- Monitors and maintains Bed Board at all times.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards. - Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
