Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer (5+ years experience) to join our small but growing design team. This is an opportunity to help shape design culture at Semgrep and advance our mission to make it expensive to exploit software. You’ll own key initiatives that simplify complex security and software-engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
→ Lead and execute ambiguously scoped design initiatives within and across product teams.
→ Collaborate with PMs and engineers to define product direction and roadmap decisions grounded in user needs.
→ Advocate for simple, thoughtfully designed workflows—own UX metrics like task success and time on task.
→ Conduct hands-on user research, synthesize insights, and share learnings about user workflows.
→ Contribute to design critiques, mentor teammates, and help establish design standards and processes.
Example Projects
→ Design experiences for AppSec engineers and developers working in the IDE or through the MCP server.
→ Reimagine the information architecture of the Semgrep app to align with user mental models and product growth.
→ Evolve workflows such as triage, vulnerability detection, and policy creation to be intuitive, trustworthy, and AI-powered.
→ Shape and codify our design system components to enable the broader team to self-serve.
Qualifications
→ 5+ years of experience designing digital products.
→ Background in engineer-focused, B2B, or enterprise products preferred.
→ Experience designing for technical audiences
→ Track record of simplifying complex workflows
Salary Range: $140K – $185K
