The objective of the Altium Packaging DOD SkillBridge program is to provide service members with opportunities to successfully transition into the civilian workforce, and to develop a robust talent pipeline within our manufacturing network.

Job Description:

As a fully competent Industrial Maintenance Technician, the incumbent will perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment, and facility systems. They are also responsible for adhering to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices and implementing the industry's best practices in maintenance operations.

Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.

- Install, adjust, and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer, material handling equipment and other related equipment.

- Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin, and other equipment changes.

- Replace motors and basic instrumentation

- Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.

- Inspect, rebuild, and replace valves and pumps.

- Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.

- Maintain machines in optimal processing conditions.

- Troubleshoot, identify root causes to problems, and repair blow mold, baggers, and support equipment.

- Able to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and other related equipment.

- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on facility systems such as compressors, chillers, HVAC, and related equipment, including building maintenance.

- May operate blow mold or injection machines.

- Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.

- Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.

- Role is part of an operating team, which includes attending shift start meetings and participating in team work processes.

- May interact with contractors, vendors and external support personnel.

- Receives instructions on specific job tasks by Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or

Supervisor.

- Other duties as assigned by management.

- Assistance is furnished with unusual problems, and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, schedule, track, and execute 100% of maintenance activities.

- Apply continuous improvement tools and methodologies to reduce maintenance-related losses including equipment downtime, breakdowns, and maintenance costs.

- Support initiatives and projects to improve equipment availability and reliability through data-driven maintenance strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

- Basic mathematical skills

- Basic computer skills

- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

- Excellent attention to detail

Preferred:

- 2+ years maintenance experience, specifically in the manufacturing industry

- Prior welding and fabrication experience

- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education

- OSHA Forklift certification

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.

Targeted Pay Range:

$29.52 - $37.69

• Lock out training with the safety coordinator

Shuttle Training

• Hands on learning with the extrusion blow molding (EBM)shuttles

Shadow operators

• Work side-by-side with operators to learn effective bottling processes

Shadow operators

• Work side-by-side with operators to learn effective process on other machines such as blender OIT screens, grinders, baggers, etc..

Mold Training

• Observe mold changes on the manufacturing lines

Preventative Maintenance Training

• Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly PM

Maintenance Training

• Take floor calls with the mechanics

Chillers/Automation Training

• Learn to troubleshoot the chiller/cooler systems and become acquainted with the automation/robotic systems of the plant

Packaging Training

• Learn to troubleshoot the baggers, case erectors, case date coder, sleever, Flammer, and pick n place. Learn how to replace grinder blades

Electrical Arc Flash Training

• Recognize hazards and use safety measures to prevent electrical accidents.

Self-Study Electrical Maintenance Training

• Complete 17 online courses and assessments at your own pace (wiring, circuits, etc.)

Rebuild Training

• Rebuild Bagger Seal Bars and Sleever Clamps

Adjust & Repair Training

• Adjust/repair OWI farason, OWI massman, OWI westrock & Glue Set up OIT, and L6/12 Leak Detectors

Self-Study Mechanical Maintenance Training

• Complete 21 online courses and assessments at your own pace (hydraulics & pneumatics, troubleshooting, etc.)

Self-Study Instrumentation Maintenance Training

• Complete 12 online courses and assessments at your own pace (instrumentation, positioners, et.)

Forklift/ Scissorlift Certification

• Received proper training off-site that will result in a Forklift/Scissor Lift Certification
