Newborn Caregiver / Nanny Job Description (7 AM – 4 PM)

Position: Newborn Nanny / Infant Caregiver
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Katy, Texas
Start Date: ASAP

Compensation 40-45 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a nurturing, reliable, and experienced caregiver to provide full-time care for our 3 month old newborn. The ideal candidate will be highly attentive, knowledgeable about infant care, and able to create a safe, calm, and developmentally supportive environment for our baby.
This is a 6 month position

Key Responsibilities

Infant Care

  • Feed the newborn on schedule (breastmilk or formula) and log feeding times.

  • Change diapers regularly and track diaper output.

  • Bathe the baby as needed.

  • Follow safe sleep practices (back-sleeping, supervised tummy time when awake, etc.).

  • Prepare and clean bottles; sanitize feeding equipment.

  • Monitor baby’s physical and emotional needs throughout the day.

Developmental Support

  • Provide age-appropriate stimulation (talking, singing, reading).

  • Supervise and guide tummy time sessions.

  • Track milestones and note any concerns.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for the newborn.

  • Report any signs of illness, discomfort, or developmental concerns.

  • Follow family preferences and pediatrician recommendations.

Light Household Tasks (Baby-Related Only)

  • Wash and fold baby laundry.

  • Keep nursery neat and sanitized.

  • Clean bottles, pump parts, and baby feeding areas.

  • Restock diapers, wipes, and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience caring for newborns (2+ years preferred).

  • CPR & Infant First Aid certification.

  • Knowledge of newborn sleep patterns, feeding cues, and safe sleep guidelines.

  • Patience, warmth, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to follow routines and adapt to the baby’s changing needs.

  • Non-smoker; comfortable with pets (if applicable).

Compensation & Benefits

  • 40-45 per hour,

  • 2 weeks paid vacation, 2 sick, 2 personal and 6 paid holidays,
