Compensation ranges from $28 to $37 per hour, plus shift differential. Your exact salary will be based on your experience, skills, and work location.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery and production equipment.
- Repair and replace essential machine components like bearings, filters, wiring, and electrical parts.
- Diagnose mechanical issues by observing machine operations and identifying problems.
- Dismantle machines to access and replace defective components while examining for any imperfections.
- Inspect used parts to assess any necessary adaptations.
- Adjust and repair malfunctioning parts and control instruments, ensuring proper installation of functional components.
- Initiate purchase orders for needed components, lubricate and clean parts, and run tests on machines.
- Participate in an on-call program and be available for additional hours when required.
- Adhere to safety protocols to foster a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED, with at least one year's related experience or equivalent training.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Electrician's License preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Competence in machine setup, troubleshooting equipment failures, and preventive maintenance.
- Expertise in PLC troubleshooting and the ability to read and program code.
- Good familiarity with electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and service manuals.
- Ability to troubleshoot and swiftly repair both electrical and mechanical issues related to production and facility equipment.
- Capability to return equipment to operational status during emergencies.
Competencies:
- Effective problem-solving in practical scenarios with varied concrete variables.
- Ability to comprehend diverse instructions provided in written, oral, and diagrammatic forms.
Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, 8a-8p or 8p-8a, rotating weekly: 36 hours in one week, 48 hours the next, with potential for overtime.
- Regularly lift and move over 100 pounds with help; perform various physical activities including reaching, standing, and walking.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Good visual acuity is necessary.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to toxic chemicals and electrical hazards.
- Medium to loud noise levels in the work environment.
