As an Automotive Technician at CarMax, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning vehicles to meet our high standards. From engine repairs to adjustments in steering, suspension, and brakes, you will ensure that every car meets our customer’s safety and performance expectations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicles to ensure our customers can drive away with confidence.

- Gaining hands-on experience working on a broad range of domestic and foreign vehicles.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience in areas such as engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, or heating and air conditioning.
- Understanding of health and safety compliance.
- Manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to lift heavy objects, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Where necessary, maintain ASE Certifications in relevant areas.

The hourly rate for this position is:
$24.30 - $42.60
Commissions:
This position is eligible for commission.
Benefits:
CarMax associates are entitled to paid sick leave, vacation, and holiday time.
- Full-time hourly or commissioned employees can earn up to 48 hours of sick leave and between 80 to 200 hours of vacation based on continuous service with CarMax.
- Eligible for 8 hours of pay for 6 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday annually.
Full-time salaried employees receive unlimited paid time off for illness, vacation, and other needs, subject to managerial approval.
