Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist performs essential imaging procedures using various units within the imaging department and assists in patient care within nursing units and operating suites. This role emphasizes radiation safety and professional growth to continually enhance patient care. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Executing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures accurately and safely.
  • Communicating clearly with patients and addressing their questions about procedures.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring their rights are respected.
  • Documenting and managing department records per protocol.
  • Maintaining and preparing equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
  • Assisting with patient transport to and from the Radiology Department.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • Licensure: Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligibility for certification, with BLS certification required upon hire. Registry-eligible candidates must obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Experience: A strong ability to perform imaging procedures following established protocols.
