WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This position is pivotal in developing and expanding relationships with high and ultra-high net-worth clients at City National Rochdale (CNR). Collaborating closely with Senior Wealth Strategists and other colleagues, the ideal candidate will create compelling client-facing materials and deliverables. If you have a strong background in client interactions, expertise in financial planning software (especially eMoney), and profound knowledge in advanced planning topics, including Estates and Trusts, Income Taxation, Philanthropy, and Asset Protection, this is the opportunity for you

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Analyze clients' financial situations and develop effective planning strategies while educating them through the Comprehensive Wealth Assessment.
  • Support the Wealth Strategy team by participating in external meetings, taking notes, and creating sophisticated custom planning models using tools like eMoney, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Engage with independent financial advisors and clients to understand their goals and offer tailored solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings to provide integrated planning services within a team environment.
  • Create and maintain high-quality, understandable strategy explanations in partnership with the Wealth Strategy team.
  • Assist Wealth Analysts with report preparation and modifications to support business reporting and operations utilizing Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop clear explanations of advanced wealth planning strategies relevant to U/HNW clients.
  • Contribute to educational programs through the preparation of written and oral presentations for colleagues, clients, and prospects.
  • Research and write articles on current wealth planning topics for distribution to clients and in marketing materials.
  • Stay updated on legislative and tax changes impacting wealth planning.
  • Enhance client relationships by designing integrated wealth plans that elevate the value of banking services.
  • Engage in third-party audits of materials subject to peer review.
  • Ensure clients are served by the appropriate line of business when necessary.
  • Cultivate relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) directly and in partnership with colleagues.
  • Attend client and community events, enhancing visibility and engagement.
  • Prepare for sponsored events focusing on wealth planning topics relevant to attendees.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial planning or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years within Banking, Brokerage, or Insurance sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, particularly with eMoney.
  • CFP - Certified Financial Planner credential or the ability to obtain within 24 months of employment.
  • CEPA - Certified Exit Planning Advisor credential, or the ability to obtain within 18 months of employment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (JD, CPA, or Master’s in Tax/Accounting/Business) is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Stay informed about innovative wealth planning solutions and communicate them effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in team-based, multidisciplinary wealth planning.
  • Ability to simplify complex strategies for clients and COIs while promoting relevant banking products or services.

Presentation Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Expertise in diverse areas such as portfolio design, transfer tax, life insurance, income tax, and business succession.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
