Title: Cash Application Clerk
Pay rate: $23/hr
Duration: 3-6 months, with possible extension
Location: Onsite in Newark NJ
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 pm
Duties include the following;

Processing payments: Accurately posting customer payments received through cash, checks and credit cards.

Applying cash: Matching and applying payments to the correct customer accounts and specific outstanding invoices.
-
Reconciling accounts: Investigating and resolving discrepancies, unapplied cash, or over/underpayments.
-
Handling exceptions: Researching and resolving payment issues caused by incomplete or inaccurate remittance data.
-
Maintaining records: Keeping financial records accurate and updated, which may include maintaining credit notes or handling petty cash.
-
Reporting: Creating reports on account statuses, payment activity, and other financial metrics.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Strong Excel skills, proficiency in MS Office
Cash application, AR or collections experience
Professional demeanor, good customer service skills
Banner or AxiUm experience is a plus
Pay Details: $23.00 per hour
