Hourly Rate: $31.83-$36.45

Shift: Monday - Thursday; 5:30am - 4:00pm

How You Make An Impact:

As a Maintenance Machinist II, you will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all types of machinery and support equipment in the manufacturing and warehouse locations of Oregon Cutting Systems. Additional responsibilities include fabrication and assembly of machine parts and new equipment, qualification of new equipment and testing equipment, and the manufacturing of repair parts. Monitor indicators and provide preventive maintenance to prevent the breakdown of critical equipment.

The Details:

  1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and support equipment to meet cost, quality, delivery, and safety requirements.
  2. Assist in developing and maintaining preventive or predictive maintenance programs and record data to support these objectives.
  3. Utilize statistical quality control tools for data collection, problem-solving, and analysis; participate in the development of reliability methods and indicators.
  4. Use computer-based systems for retrieving process documentation, record-keeping, managing inventory, and capturing labor hours.
  5. Upgrade and rebuild manufacturing machinery to original factory specifications or better; qualify machinery.
  6. Support engineering and general plant requirements for new equipment; assist in the development of new or prototype equipment.
  7. Fabricate repair parts, sheet metal, plastic parts, fixtures, and equipment; weld using gas and electric welders; machine parts as needed.
  8. Organize, plan, and maintain inventory levels for purchased and manufactured parts; consult with purchasing when ordering repair parts or materials.
  9. Provide technical knowledge and expertise, participate in improvement activities, and train new employees, operators, apprentices, and peers.
  10. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workplace, including personal and assigned work areas; practice teamwork methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 30 credit hours of Machine Technology courses with a 3.0 or greater GPA or equivalent experience.
  • Two years knowledge and experience working with various hands on maintenance of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing parts to three place decimals.
  • Computer keyboarding, intro to internet, intro to windows, and math basics.
  • Competent with electric and gas welding, brazing, and soldering of a variety of raw materials including but not limited to steel, stainless steel, aluminum and plastic.
