The Surgical Services RN Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and serves as the senior leader for perioperative services. Direct reports typically include leaders for the OR, PACU, Pre-Op/PAT, and Sterile Processing, along with charge nurses and a clinical educator. The Surgical Services RN Director partners closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, materials management, infection prevention, quality, finance, and scheduling to optimize patient flow, safety, and surgeon satisfaction. The Surgical Services RN Director will lead a multi-suite operating room with pre-admission testing, pre-op, PACU, and sterile processing, supporting thousands of procedures annually across general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, urology, and more. The department is fast-paced, team-oriented, and professional.
Administratively, the Surgical Services RN Director drives budgeting, staffing and scheduling, block and room utilization, physician relations, accreditation readiness, supply chain stewardship, and policy development aligned to organizational strategy. Ideal candidates hold their Masters and haver over five years of related experience and leadership.
