Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson, one of the largest employers in the Hudson Valley, with over 1300 employees, with locations in Ulster, Greene, Columbia and Putnam Counties, has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician.

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of three years of experience in a skilled building/construction trade or facility maintenance, including knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and the maintaining of buildings/grounds. Knowledge of the New York State building code and of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions is required. Must also possess basic computer skills.

A NYS Driver’s License and acceptable driving record are a must. The successful applicant will have the ability to work without close supervision, adapt to a wide variety of conditions and have pride in their workmanship. Overtime may be required at times, especially during inclement weather. The Arc Mid-Hudson offers a very generous benefits package and an extensive new hire orientation program in a comfortable learning environment.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/8:00 am to 4:00 pm/must be flexible

STARTING SALARY: $ 20.56 to $ 22.62 per hour

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a skilled building/construction trade or facility maintenance.

  • Knowledge of the New York State building Code and of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions.

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Good gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and the ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

  • Must possess a valid New York State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to The Arc Mid-Hudson, their insurance company and any other regulatory agencies.
