Founded by the Channell family in 1922, Channell is a global designer, manufacturer, and seller of outside plant infrastructure equipment. The markets served by Channell are Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV, among others. Major product lines include a complete line of thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems and high performance below grade vaults.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Corporate Receptionist is the face of the company, as you are the first point of contact for visitors and clients, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and efficient professional service at our newly built global headquarters. This role is pivotal in representing Channell Commercial Corporation's high level of standards and is the window to our corporation who employs over 700 employees. The ideal candidate is professional, polite, and outgoing, has excellent communication skills, a customer service-oriented mindset, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and the willingness to support administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the front desk, including answering and directing phone calls, handling inquiries, and managing visitor logs.
- Greet and welcome dignitaries, visitors, and clients, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings and conference room bookings.
- Monitor and respond to email requests.
- Traditional administrative support: copying, filing, mailing, scanning, organizing and ordering supplies.
- Assists the Human Resources department with employee/personnel projects to include mailings, monthly reports & various HR tasks.
- Assist in file audits for compliance and form tracking systems to maintain compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Provide assistance with administrative duties and special projects, as needed.
- Experience working in a corporate environment.
- Experience using multi-line phone system.
- Associates degree or higher preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a time sensitive, multi-tasking environment, with a focus on detail.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role.
- Willing to help others, action oriented and self-motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in changing environments with a full range of personalities and work styles.
- Knowledge of general office practices, systems, policies and procedures and the ability to appropriately apply the information in specific situations.
- Intermediate to advanced skills on all Microsoft Office Software - Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Capacity to work overtime, as needed.
- Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands and working conditions requirements indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking (up to continuously); speaking/verbal communication, bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 30 pounds.
Working Conditions: Working in an office setting indoors; frequent exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
