Body Shop Metal Technician

Pay Range: $20.00 - $27.00/Flat Rate Hourly (DOE)

Schedule: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repair work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following Lithia, manufacturer, and insurance standards.

  • Follow all applicable safety requirements.

  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all collision repair parts.

  • Road-test vehicles to confirm quality of repairs.

  • Accurately record repair time per company time-clock procedures.

  • Track vehicle progress in paint shop and determine readiness for final assembly.

  • Document all work performed and test results.

  • Provide and maintain required personal tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, hammers, chisels, punches).

  • Return special tools to their proper locations.

  • Use shop materials efficiently and responsibly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace—including daily stall cleanings.

  • Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned as clean as they arrived.

  • Stay current on the latest repair techniques through ongoing training.

  • Communicate constructively with dealership personnel to support customer satisfaction.

  • Report any safety or integrity concerns to management immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive body/collision repair preferred

  • Working knowledge of body shop tools and equipment

  • Basic mechanical understanding of automobiles

  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to meet workplace standards
