Key Responsibilities:
- Machining Operations: Operate and maintain a range of machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders to manufacture high-precision parts and components. Ensure that machinery is set up and adjusted correctly for each job.
- Precision Measurement: Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to take precise measurements of machined parts. Ensure that all components meet exact specifications and tolerances.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements. Accurately translate these specifications into operational instructions for machinery.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and tests of machined parts to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to quality standards. Make necessary adjustments and corrections to meet project requirements.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment to keep it in optimal working condition. Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues or discrepancies that arise during machining operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Significant experience as a machinist with a strong background in operating various machining tools and equipment. Demonstrated ability to use micrometers and other precision measuring tools effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all machining tasks. Ability to work independently and make precise adjustments as needed.
- Location: Must be located in or willing to commute to [City, State]. Reliable transportation is required.
