Outside Product Sales Representative

This role requires close collaboration with the Inside Sales team to ensure seamless communication and strategic alignment. You'll play a key role in expanding our customer base, nurturing existing relationships, and driving revenue growth.
This role will be required to travel to the following states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
This is an exempt, salaried role with a built-in commission structure reporting directly to the IMTECH Operations Director.

- Meet or exceed sales and profitability targets by maintaining current accounts and developing new business opportunities.
- Travel within your assigned territory to visit clients, build relationships, and generate sales.
- Coordinate with Inside Sales to prioritize leads and plan efficient travel schedules.
- Educate customers on IMTECH products, demonstrating features and benefits using samples and catalogs.
- Conduct joint sales visits with distributors and assess customer equipment and product needs.
- Provide solutions that add value and address customer challenges.
- Identify new product applications and introduce relevant offerings.
- Collect necessary information for accurate quoting and follow up on quotes in collaboration with Inside Sales.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Research and compile lists of potential leads using various sources such as directories, trade shows, and online platforms.
- Prepare and submit reports on sales activities, expenses, and customer interactions.
- Organize and lead customer training sessions.
- Represent IMTECH at industry trade shows and events.
- Share market insights and competitor intelligence with management to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to relay customer feedback and suggest product improvements.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to stay informed and competitive.
- Assist in the development of sales strategies and marketing campaigns tailored to regional needs.
- Support customer onboarding and ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery.
- Conduct site assessments to identify opportunities for product integration or upgrades.
- Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with all company and customer safety protocols.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of the IMTECH brand.
- Provide post-sale support, including troubleshooting and coordinating with technical teams as needed.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to management.
- Mentor or assist in training new sales team members when needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in outside sales, industrial distribution, or technical service roles; or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in the industrial rubber, conveyor systems, or manufacturing sectors is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with conveyor belting, rubber molded parts, and industrial rubber products is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and mobile sales tools.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Comfortable speaking with a wide range of stakeholders, from shop floor personnel to executive leadership.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including overnight stays.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including climbing ladders, navigating tight spaces, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all company and customer safety protocols.
