General Maintenance Mechanic II, AHSIC-Full Time

Job Description

Team oriented maintenance technician responsible for keeping the organization's commercial medical office facilities and equipment maintained by performing a variety of duties. Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and equipment. Performs regular inspections of machinery and equipment, carry's out preventative maintenance, and fulfills other duties such as building maintenance as assigned. Reads, interprets, and follows instructions and operation manuals. Will be traveling to multiple doctor's practices,

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Performs repair, maintenance and inspections on off-site facility equipment including minor plumbing, electrical, heating/AC, paint and wallboard repair and any general maintenance needs as required.
2. Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
3. Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
4. Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
5. Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
6. Responsible for completing work orders to document work completed, parts used and par levels maintained.
7. Works with the Coordinator to prioritize work requests based on immediate needs and schedule.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Experienced with use of tools and equipment
3. 3-5 years of prior experience

Preferred:
4 years general maintenance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

About the Team

Atlantic Health System's Environmental Service Department ensures the cleanest and safest health care environment for all team members, patients and visitors. Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics and patient equipment. The team uses sanitizing processes of the highest quality required by multiple regulatory agencies. Often referred to as 'the first line of defense against infection,' the Environmental Service Department collaborates with the Atlantic Health System Infection Prevention and Quality Departments to ensure that there is consistent alignment at all sites.
