THE ROLE
This position is responsible for troubleshooting the company's equipment and making repairs in a timely manner to ensure minimal production downtime. This includes repairing equipment parts, performing equipment retrofits and modifications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing, replacing and/or changing machine parts as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule.
- Keep accurate and detailed records and PM schedules.
- Quickly troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime.
- Performs tolerance checks and makes adjustments to ensure machine conformance to part quality requirements.
- Observes mechanical operation of all equipment to determine machine conformance.
- Responsible for purchasing parts and parts management.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.
- Must be fluent in safety procedures to include all things related to maintenance and repair of production machinery and ensure equipment guarding compliance.
- Must have knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of LOTO requirements to meet state and federal standards.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder operation and the ability to rebuild them is required.
- Experience with VFD's and PLC's.
- Must possess understanding and knowledge of low voltage DC circuits, 110 through 480 Volt AC single and three phase.
- Ability to operate all production-related machinery to include electric scissor lift, electric pallet jack, forklift and overhead crane.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Must be well organized and be able to self-manage to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed.
- Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- MIG welding experience is a plus.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a successful millwright or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
