Summary of Position:
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of technical projects by aligning team efforts with established timelines, quality standards, and organizational goals. This role involves enhancing collaboration across teams, optimizing workflows, and serving as a liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver outstanding results efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Project Planning: Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements to ensure project success.
- Technical Coordination: Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, resolve roadblocks, and align with project goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication across teams, including product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks and issues proactively, develop mitigation plans, and address challenges before they impact the project.
- Project Execution: Manage daily project activities, track progress, and ensure on-time delivery of milestones.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, set clear expectations, and manage communications effectively.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize project workflows, adopting best practices to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
- Budget & Resource Management: Monitor budgets, track expenses, and ensure optimal allocation of resources.
- Quality Assurance: Validate that deliverables meet quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction and technical excellence.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize metrics and analytics to track project performance and inform adjustments to maintain progress.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a professional office setting, utilizing workplace technology including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, and cloud-based systems.
Physical Demands:
The role requires effective physical capabilities to perform key responsibilities. Regular verbal and written communication with colleagues and clients is essential to address project-related inquiries. The position involves remaining seated at a workstation for approximately 75% of the time, with occasional movement throughout the office. Daily tasks include the consistent use of computers and office technology, as well as transporting equipment boxes weighing up to 25 pounds when necessary.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management or a related role.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management frameworks.
- Strong technical acumen and understanding of engineering workflows and systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Certification in PMP, Scrum Master, or similar methodologies.
- Experience in budget and resource planning for large-scale technical programs.
- Background in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
- Proficient in project management methodologies, focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges proactively.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to lead collaboration among cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
