Position Information

From helping children and parents survive divorce, to treating depression, our licensed clinical staff provides a team approach to care. Under the direction of a board-certified psychiatrist, our mental health facilities provide in- and out-patient care to adults at all levels of mental health severity. Under the direction of our board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, we also provide services to adolescents who require mental health treatment. Position Summary
Summary:
The Behavioral Health Programs Manager provides leadership and oversight for non-nursing behavioral health teams, including therapists, case managers, group leaders, peers and support staff, to ensure high-quality, patient-centered, and evidence-based care. This role manages daily operations, program development, staffing, and performance outcomes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and promoting fiscal responsibility. The manager collaborates closely with nursing, medical, and community partners to enhance access, integration, and overall quality across the behavioral health continuum, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsible for providing leadership and for management of the human, material and financial resources of the assigned department(s), ensuring that the department operations are in alignment with the goals and objectives of Lakeland Regional Health.

* Standard Work: Manager - Behavioral Health Program
- Oversee various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities. Champions multidisciplinary collaboration and mutual problem solving between units/disciplines (physicians, pharmacy, EVS, food service, social work, etc.)
- Communicates appropriately with patients, families, team members, and our community in a manner that treasures all people as uniquely created. Ensures patients and families have the best possible experience across the continuum of care. Interface with patients and families to ensure that care is consistent with their expectations. Serve as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process. Serve as a change agent to facilitate communication and transition that supports the mission of the organization.
- Maintain required unit records, reports and statistics for administrative purposes, ensures compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, safety, environmental, infection control and regulatory standards. Communicate requirements to staff, and hold staff accountable to established requirements. Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve operational efficiency. Participates actively in process improvement and adoption of standard work.
- Knows and adheres to organizational and department policies and procedures. Demonstrates accountability for overall departmental operations and/or organization-wide functional responsibilities within the system to support achievement of organizational priorities. Demonstrates responsible use of LRH's resources including people, finances, equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate the activities of non-nursing staff with other hospital personnel; accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the unit and staff including ensuring that orders, treatments, plans of care, clinical pathways are being carried out in a manner supportive of patient care and recovery. Ensure documentation of patient care is complete and accurate in accordance with medical center and unit policies and procedures.
- Coordinates activities required to comply with Baker Act and Marchman Act laws related to involuntary patients and voluntary patients. This includes communication with patient care team on when assistance in understanding the mental health laws are requested. Will stay current in Baker Act expertise and see that annual education around BA/MA is completed timely with most up to date information.
- Collaborate with the Director and AVP to determine fiscal requirements of assigned unit(s), and prepare budgetary recommendations. Monitor the level of resources utilized in service delivery and determines the appropriateness of resource consumption in the service. Develop action plans to ensure budget and resource efficiency, and satisfaction with patient care delivery.
- Creates a high performing team by building strong relationships, mobilizing others to action and effectively leveraging the talent of their team. Actively support and promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial and utilizes current trends and data in professional practice (clinical and administrative). Openly support and consistently communicate mission of the unit/department and the organization. Serve as the collective voice for unit(s) staff to communicate with administration. Serve as the staff and patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care. Coaches team leaders, direct reports and team members to create a productive work environment.
- Manages and supports conflict/issues resolution implementing appropriate corrective actions, improvement plans and regular performance evaluations. Demonstrates capacity to manage change resistance and break down barriers to effective improvement and transformation.
- Serves as a mentor for a healthy and safe culture to advance system, department and service experience. Attends community Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse meetings. Serves as a liaison for the Behavioral Health Department for the community.

- 5y or more Inpatient or Outpatient Behavioral Health experience, including leadership.
