Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Advocate investigates, resolves, documents and reports organization-specific patient and visitor complaints and concerns to leadership and staff. The Patient Advocate collaborates with departmental leaders in to ensure resolution of concerns presented by patients, families, visitors or other representatives of the patient. The Patient Advocate actively participates in the development and implementation of customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility's mission and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred.

Experience:
1-3 years of relevant experience in a health care environment; experience in a Psychiatric setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current North Carolina Driver's License
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate to all populations with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues;
- Displays written and verbal communication skills, and is able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Able to work collaboratively, diplomatically, and with integrity in problem identification, projects management, and problem solving activities.
- Ability to maintain a log detailing calls, results of the investigation of patient complaints, and provides feedback to the complainant in a timely manner;
- Knowledge and skills in conducting and reporting investigations;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow state/federal/regulatory mandates and facility policy and procedures;
- Knowledgeable about patient rights and responsibilities;
- Knowledge of restrictive interventions and maintains a log detailing events, completes of data analysis, and reports/graphs findings monthly;
- Ability to collect and analyze Patient Satisfaction, safety, and and other data as assigned;
- Skills in reviewing video footage accurately and accurately reporting findings;
