J.B. Hunt is actively seeking skilled Tractor Technicians to join our team In this role, you will be responsible for performing essential maintenance, servicing, and repairing J.B. Hunt tractors and equipment. Our technicians play a vital role in ensuring that all units meet J.B. Hunt's high standards consistently. This position may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions and may require availability across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, plus potential overtime. Full-time attendance is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize foundational technical knowledge to conduct preventative maintenance, replace parts/components, and perform basic repairs for tractor maintenance, including but not limited to the fuel system, battery, engine, drivetrain, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures diligently.
  • Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times.
  • Accurately execute basic repairs to meet company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and show proficiency with standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of one year of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, military equivalent experience, or a combination of education and experience. Willingness to work outdoors in various conditions, including across multiple shifts, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • A/C Certification, DOT certification for FHWA Inspections, and Air Brakes.
  • Basic tools required for this role; these should generally be supplied by the employee. A toolbox purchase program is available for those who do not have their own tools.

Compensation:

Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, geographic location, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may also be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volume, in accordance with the Company's bonus and incentive plans.
