General Notes

This position is effective for Spring 2026 (Early Feb- Mid May) with the opportunity to extend to future semesters based on work performance. This role will work in collaboration with other student marketing interns for Liberal Arts Career Services and will divide responsibilities according to schedules and interests. Applications will be reviewed starting January 15th with interviews being conducted the week of January 20th. This position is open to work study and non-work study students.

Purpose

Liberal Arts Career Services is looking for an energetic, well-organized, and passionate marketing intern to join our marketing team. The goal of our work is to promote the value of the Texas Liberal Arts degree and the wide range of exciting career opportunities available to our students. This role offers the opportunity to support this mission through storytelling and marketing.

Position Information
  • Supervisor: Ryan Wilburn
  • Location: Flawn Academic Center, 2304 Whitis Ave. Stop G6200
Responsibilities
  • Design creative visuals for social media, print, and other digital formats
  • Create promotional and informational video content for social media (Instagram Reels)
  • Work with the marketing team to develop a content plan that aligns with event schedule, recruiting cycles, and trends
  • Research trending topics/content formats, hashtags, and best practices to increase engagement on Instagram
  • Draft copy for social media and other outreach
  • Live coverage of events like Career Fairs, employer events, alumni speaking engagements, etc.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with social media content creation (personal or professional)
  • Experience creating high quality graphics with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, or Canva
  • Experience synthesizing information into visuals or graphics
  • Confidence in filming and/or appearing in social media video content
  • Creative perspective for visuals and copywriting
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
Preferred Qualifications
  • Video editing skills using software such as Edits, Capcut, Premiere Pro, etc.
  • Experience in social media strategy and planning
  • Experience in copywriting
Salary Range

$15.00/hr

Work Shift

Intern will work up to 12 hours a week during business hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Must be available Monday mornings.
