Position Title: Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR

Location: Salem, VA

Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Rotating Weekends)

Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to join our dynamic surgical team. This role is critical to providing safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care, particularly in cardiovascular operating rooms and obstetric procedures. The ideal candidate brings expertise in surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and a strong commitment to patient care and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Scrub for C-sections and assist in other obstetric and cardiovascular procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in surgical instrumentation and aseptic technique.
  • Register and pre-register obstetric patients; accurately process patient information.
  • Assist with infant testing and tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of equipment and the physical environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative in continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (or grandfathered per state guidelines).
  • Surgical Technologist license (State of Virginia) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including active listening.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
