Transportation Operations Supervisor

Overview:
MV Transportation is seeking a passionate and dedicated Transportation Operations Supervisor to oversee our street operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and operational requirements while enhancing the service experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive site checks and road observations, documenting findings and reporting them to project staff.
- Perform wheelchair securement and vehicle cleanliness inspections on in-service vehicles.
- Monitor street operations to ensure on-time performance and adherence to schedules and routes.
- Provide informative customer support at key locations and for site personnel.
- Assist in managing incidents and accidents, collecting necessary information, and helping operations staff maintain service levels.
- Accompany operators to medical facilities when required and ensure compliance with post-accident testing protocols.
- Fill vacant shifts to maintain consistent service delivery.
- Conduct gate checks during pull-out and pull-in times, ensuring on-time service and proper paperwork completion including pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Identify potential rerouting due to traffic, construction, or accidents.
- Ensure operators meet duty fitness standards, uniform requirements, and hold necessary licensing and certifications.
- Support operators with service or passenger-related issues.
- Assist dispatch and maintenance staff with vehicle changes in the field.
- Provide feedback to safety and operations departments regarding service items affecting safety and performance.
- Help determine the preventability of accidents and incidents, recommending future training based on findings.
- Accurately document all field observations and maintain organized records.
- Assist with fueling and parking vehicles as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certifications as per local contract requirements.
- Previous experience in passenger transportation in a similar environment is essential.
- Training or field supervision experience is preferred.
- Excellent safety and service record is a must.
- Familiarity with local operations and training programs.
- Knowledge of client requirements and service performance standards.
- Ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Understanding of project-specific vehicles, components, and communication systems.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to safety programs.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven ability to work independently and objectively in various situations.
- Valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement required.
Starting pay rate: $32.84/hour
