Civil Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer who will be responsible for designing and managing a variety of projects. This role involves preparing detailed plans, interacting with clients, and leading project teams to successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site, subdivision, and grading plans.

• Perform drainage calculations and design stormwater management systems.

• Create road construction plans and cost estimates.

• Develop specifications for public bidding.

• Design septic systems, retaining walls, and structural components.

• Interact with clients and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on technical projects.

• Attend board meetings and provide expert testimony at public hearings.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

• Proficiency in designing stormwater drainage calculations using Carlson Civil Software.

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office.

• Knowledge of NJ land development and regulatory processes.

• Ability to manage projects independently and delegate tasks to junior staff.

• Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with clients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and on track for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

This role requires being in the office five days a week, with approximately 80% of the time dedicated to office design and 20% to field visits and town hall meetings. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
