Position Summary: The Clinical Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality nursing care and safety within the Operating Room. Collaborating with the Nursing Department Director/Manager, this position oversees daily operations and provides leadership to nursing staff while delivering exceptional patient care. As a model of professionalism and clinical excellence, the Clinical Supervisor fosters a collaborative environment among the interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive patient and family services.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing School; BSN strongly preferred. National specialty certification is also a plus.
- Certification/Licenses: Current RN license; must hold BLS Certification and obtain ACLS Certification within 6 months. PALS/NRP and TNCC certifications are required as per area specifications. CPI or equivalent must also be achieved within six months for Behavioral Health and Emergency Department settings.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care/services in the assigned unit/department.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Nature of Supervision: Directly reports to Nursing Leadership.
Environment: This role may require working odd hours, managing multiple patient care activities, and handling exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays in various unpredictable situations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to manage emergency situations and maintain prolonged standing, with expertise in utilizing good body mechanics. Occasion to position, push, and transfer patients or equipment, with normal hearing and visual acuity. Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination are essential.
