HVAC Design Engineer
The HVAC Designer/ Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of HVAC systems for various residential, multifamily housing and commercial projects
Responsibilities:
• HVAC systems design includes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential, multifamily housing and commercial projects.
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, duct sizing, and Hydronic pipes sizing.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (CMC, UMC, IMC, CEES, CPC, CGC, CFC, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA).
• Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using design software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and presentations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC design engineering.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (Revit, Energy Pro. Title 24, Carrier HAP, and AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of HVAC principles, codes, and standards. (CMC, IMC, CPC, NFPA, CBC)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Preferred Skills:
• EIT certification is a plus.
• LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices.
• Advanced knowledge of energy efficiency and green building technologies.
