This full-time salaried position involves three convenient 12-hour shifts, allowing for every other weekend off and the luxury of a 4-day weekend. This onsite role is located at our Coxsackie site with some required reimbursable travel between locations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Collect essential clinical data including vitals, specimens, and point of care testing.
- Conduct occupational medicine assessments.
- Ensure accurate patient coding.
- Maintain thorough and detailed patient medical records.
- Act as an on-site leader for clinical staff, providing direction and support.
- Mentor students and newer clinical team members.
Requirements:
- Valid New York license and registration as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA certification.
Education Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
- NCCPA Registration.
- Applicable state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
Experience:
- Preferred 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Calm and effective emergency response capabilities.
- Proficient in utilizing the scientific process and national standards for patient care management.
- Ability to efficiently navigate computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and commitment to confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
