Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer
Job Summary:
The Refrigeration Engineer oversees the engineering management, performance optimization, and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems in a meat processing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of refrigeration and mechanical systems by conducting technical analysis, system diagnostics, and preventive maintenance planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering evaluations and performance assessments of refrigeration systems, including compressors and condensers.
- Monitor and document operational parameters, analyze system data, and implement enhancements for efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on refrigeration equipment using engineering principles.
- Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration systems through root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize computer-based control systems for system monitoring and control adjustments.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to initiate continuous improvement projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and engineering reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in industrial refrigeration systems, preferably within food or meat processing industries.
- Strong ability to perform mechanical repairs on compressors, condensers, and related systems.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, PSM/RMP compliance, and industrial safety standards.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and control interfaces.
