Job Overview:

As a vital member of our boiler operations team, you will play a crucial role in the efficient maintenance and performance of both wood-fed and natural gas boilers. Join us in a team-oriented environment where you can leverage your skills in troubleshooting and repair of various mechanical systems related to boiler operations. This position promises to be both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe working conditions and exceptional housekeeping standards.
  • Perform daily and hourly checks to comply with state regulations.
  • Monitor wood material feed systems and swiftly address any auger or conveying issues.
  • Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on all boiler systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve low water cut-off issues.
  • Oversee the operation of boiler machinery and related equipment.
  • Properly conduct shut-down, raking out, and start-up procedures for boilers.
  • Lead the annual disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of boilers.
  • Troubleshoot and address electrical issues, as qualified.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including loaders, safely and effectively.
  • Handle boiler chemical additives responsibly.
  • Train others in boiler operation procedures and systems as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical prints, and equipment manuals for diagnosing issues.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong focus on completing tasks accurately.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a deep understanding of boiler systems and processes.
  • Completion of ARC flash training and strong knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Adaptable and flexible, tackling changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively across teams.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a State of Minnesota 1st Class C Boiler License or higher.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a 1st Class C Boiler Operator is preferred.
