Job Title: Network Engineer

Location(s): Salt Lake, UT

Responsibilities

  • Provide full environmental ownership for all perimeter-related network domains including B2B, internet DMZ, cloud edge, and trading/market-exchange connectivity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in cross-platform initiatives involving Global Markets, Collaboration, Market Data, Compute, Storage, Information Security, and Data Center teams.
  • Introduce, communicate, and advance strategic networking technologies to enhance scalability, resilience, and functionality across the enterprise.
  • Participate actively in the full product lifecycle-from evaluation and introduction of new technologies through operational maturity and end-of-life planning.
  • Engineer and deliver new network solutions to meet diverse internal client and business requirements.
  • Manage and execute multiple concurrent projects, spanning small-scale initiatives to large, complex deployments.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for resolution of complex and high-impact network issues.
  • Engage and coordinate with networking product vendors and telecom service providers for design, integration, support, and lifecycle management.

Skills and Experience

  1. Extensive hands-on engineering and implementation experience with large-scale enterprise network technologies; financial-sector exposure is preferred.
  2. Deep knowledge of perimeter networks, external connectivity models, network security standards, cloud connectivity architectures, and data center design principles, products, and protocols.
  3. Strong understanding of network security architectures, authentication frameworks, encryption methodologies, and industry security standards.
  4. Proven design and deployment experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, including Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet platforms.
  5. Expert-level familiarity with WAN/LAN topologies and protocols, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, PIM, and MPLS.
  6. Broad experience with a range of networking platforms and technologies, such as Cisco Routers and Switches, Nexus, ASR, ISR, Layer 4-7 switching/high availability (Citrix NetScaler preferred), Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, IOS-XR, Juniper JunOS, and Fortinet FortiOS.
  7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making capabilities.
  8. Demonstrated experience in network management, internetworking design, and enterprise-scale network implementation.
  9. Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  10. Solid project management capabilities, particularly with large network deployments and multi-discipline project delivery.
  11. Hands-on expertise managing, configuring, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI.
  12. (Desirable) Experience with application performance optimization and packet-level analysis for deep troubleshooting.
  13. (Desirable) Software scripting and automation skills, including use of APIs, GitLab, Terraform (Infrastructure-as-Code), and related automation toolchains for cloud and network deployments.
