About the Role
The Retail Parts Specialist is a professional-level sales position that excels in supporting the advanced functions of the DIY automotive business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems and automotive parts, enabling effective identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for our DIY customers. You will have access to various sourcing options, including special orders and second sources, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of store inventory and maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service through friendly communication, both in-store and over the phone.
- Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals.
- Manage DIY services such as battery installations, testing, and wiper blade installations.
- Maintain high standards of store appearance and customer service.
- Act as a key holder, responsible for task assignments and safety protocols.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory processes, including stock put away and cycle counts.
- Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, and common areas.
Success Factors
- Expertise in parts sourcing and inventory management.
- Ability to accurately operate POS and parts lookup systems.
- Advanced diagnostic skills and knowledge of automotive systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Essential Skills for Success
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to diagnose issues.
- Proficient in speaking and writing English; Spanish is a plus.
- Able to interpret safety rules and technical manuals.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Capable of performing basic math computations.
Qualifications
3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience and proven sales ability are preferred. A valid driver's license is required, and ASE certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Physical Demands
This role may involve various physical tasks, and candidates should be prepared for the demands of working in an automotive retail environment.
